A raven stands in a black top hat and a full buttoned waistcoat, shoulders squared, beak long and pale grey, one amber eye fixed on you. The hat is tall with a wide brim and faint filigree stamped across the crown. The jacket has notched lapels, a row of dark round buttons, and a chain looping down to a small round pendant at the chest.

The ground behind is a smoky olive-green sky with a dozen crows in flight, small and scattered, some heading off toward the corners. A heavy bronze frame runs around the edge with cast flower bosses at all four corners and vines climbing the sides. The metalwork, the frame and the folds in the fabric are printed to look like relief on a completely flat sheet.
