Three faces fill the panel edge to edge, each under a slouched pointed hat — one buckled, one plain, one pinned with a small clasp. The middle one looks straight out; the two on either side turn slightly in, so the group reads as a conversation you walked in on. Hair falls in heavy waves and every cloak is gathered at the throat with a round brooch.
Everything is worked in one dark copper tone, with polished highlights along the hat brims and the folds of the cloaks and shadow pooling under each collar. The ground behind them is cracked and scratched, with bats and bare twigs scattered across it. The look of deep carving is printed onto a flat sheet, and the rivets and corner holes are part of the same print.
Horizontal, so it fits over a doorway, a mantel, or the gap above a bookshelf where a tall piece will not go. Good for Samhain, and easy to leave up after. A fair gift for three friends who call themselves a coven, or one who wishes she had two more.
