Five witches stand shoulder to shoulder with their backs turned, hats tipped at different angles, hair falling blonde and grey down their shoulders. Four wear black gowns with full skirts; the second from the left is in dusty rose. Two of them have wide satin bows tied at the waist, one pink and one orange.
An old maple branch reaches across the top of the disc, dropping orange and rust leaves into the scene. A pale misty sky sits behind them, and the bottom third is thick with ivy, dried hydrangeas and small gourds. The carved-relief effect in the fabric folds and the leaf edges is printed onto a flat panel rather than pressed into it.
Autumn is written all over this one, which makes it a natural from Mabon through Samhain: a covered front door, a mantel, a hallway where harvest colors sit well against the wall. Because the figures are anonymous from behind, it also works as a gift for a coven or for anyone who marks the sabbats with other people rather than alone.
