Magic Owl Wall Art Mystic Metal Sign

An owl made of jewel tones.

The owl is built from scalloped feathers in teal, magenta, deep red and gold, each one outlined in black like a piece set into lead. His face is a mask of red and violet with two yellow eyes under it, and his talons close on a bare branch that crosses the lower third.

Behind him a pale gold moon rises through a starfield, and the sky is cut into wedge-shaped panes, cobalt and indigo with a flare of turquoise off to the left. A ring of small coloured chips runs round the rim. It looks like a window lifted out of a chapel, but there is no glass and no lead here: the panes, the seams and the glow are printed on flat aluminium.

Hang it where a lamp or a window can reach it, because the colours only get louder in direct light. It works over a work desk, in a craft room, or beside the front door as a year-round piece rather than an October one.
