A witch sits in profile with her elbow up and her fingertips resting against her cheek, eyes turned away toward the left edge. Her curls run from auburn at the crown to pale gold at the ends and fall past her waist. The hat is dark green with a wide soft brim and a fine gold chain looped from the crown, and her sage gown has a stiffened corset waist and dark beading.

The space behind her is almost empty: pale misty green with one faint spiral of vapour drifting through it. All the detail sits in the border instead, where gold-green vines twist around dark branches and yellow and orange maple leaves scatter inward across the corners. The carved edges and the leaves are printed onto a flat panel.
