The wheel sits dead centre, spokes crossed and letters set around the rim, a serpent curving down one side and a small horned figure riding the top. Each corner of the card is taken by a winged creature bent over an open book — angel, eagle, bull and lion, the four fixed signs, each propped on its own bank of cloud.

The ground is stippled dark, the corners are clipped, and a running vine border frames the whole thing. Wheel of Fortune runs in capitals along a raised bar at the bottom, and a twisted rope chain finishes it.
