A single raven stands in profile with its wings folded, every feather drawn separately in grey and blue-black. Behind him a cream disc sits like a moon, faintly marked with an old chart, and a heavy gilt frame of scrolls and rosettes runs around it.

Peach and cream roses open along both sides with dried seed heads and pale leaves between them. The whole palette is antique, bronze and parchment and muted olive, with no orange or purple anywhere in it. The pillowcases put the same bird against the same disc, closer in.

This is the one that does not look like Halloween bedding, so it can stay on the bed all twelve months. Suits a room with wood furniture, and makes a sound gift for a corvid person or anyone who keeps Poe on the shelf.
