A black cat lies along the inside of a heavy gold crescent, front paws crossed, tail wrapped around itself, yellow eyes wide open. Its coat picks up a rim of light down the back and a dusting of small stars across the flank. The moon is loaded with gold scrollwork, rosettes and pale set stones, and three gold drops swing from the upper horn above two rows of tiny pearls.
Behind, the sky is almost black, with four-point stars burning at the right and a scatter of fine ones through the rest. The contrast is hard - bright gold against almost no background at all. The metal shine and the depth of the scrollwork are printed onto a flat disc.
Black and gold makes it an easy fit over a doorway, in a dim hall or on a mantel through Samhain. Good gift for someone with a black cat asleep on the good chair right now, and it holds its own against dark paint or bare brick.

The Black Cat leads the design as an archetype of mystery, independence and familiar lore. Other gothic or seasonal details build atmosphere around that central character.
