A vintage poster done in metal. Across the top, in worn cream capitals, runs the line about a world full of princesses; across the bottom, much larger, sits the answer. Between them a witch in a tiered black gown and a wide pointed hat walks left to right with a broom over her shoulder, hair blowing out behind her. A huge peach moon fills the sky with bats crossing it, a black cat trots at her heel with its tail up, and carved pumpkins glow along the ground between orange blooms and bare trees.
The chipped paint, the scratches and the aged border are printed as part of the artwork rather than earned by the metal.
This is a front-porch or entry piece for October, and it holds up outdoors as long as it is under cover. It also earns a permanent spot in a craft room or over a desk, and it says its line plainly enough to give to a friend you do not know well.
