The left half of the disc is a crescent moon rendered as a face in profile, blue-grey skin, one open eye, a calm mouth, with hair that breaks into hundreds of rolled curls in bronze, rust and steel blue, packed edge to edge.
The right half opens onto a night sky where a large orange full moon hangs above cloud, with grey rock and a jagged skyline underneath it. Small beads and shell shapes are tucked into the swirls. There is no border ring here, so the image runs right to the cut edge.
