Two profiles face each other across the middle of the disc. The sun on the left is gold from lips to lashes, its hair flowing out in thick waves over a deep red ground. The moon on the right is bone white, set into a crescent, her hair curling in blue and navy behind her.
Round cabochons in amber, violet, teal and blue are set through both halves and down the edge of the crescent, and a beaded bronze rim closes it. The shading is heavy enough that the curls look carved rather than drawn.
Warm light suits it better than cold, so a west window or a lamp nearby will do more for the gold than midday sun. It is a good equinox piece, hung at Mabon or Ostara when the two halves balance, and it makes a fitting gift for a couple, or for anyone whose practice works with polarity and balance rather than a single deity.
