A snowy owl sits front and centre, chest fluffed out, yellow eyes narrowed under black-flecked brows. Fine dark barring runs across the wings. Its head is turned slightly left, and the bird sits at an angle in the frame. At its feet the flowers crowd in: white daisies, purple asters, lavender spikes and small blue blooms, all painted in careful detail.
Behind, a pale moon takes up most of the sky, deep blue and starred, with thin gold stems arcing over the top like a frame. The palette holds to blue, white and violet apart from the daisy centres. Nothing crowds the bird - the flowers stop level with its chest. The whole illustration is printed onto a flat aluminium circle.
