The background here is deep teal rather than black, which changes everything. A snowy owl with yellow eyes sits on a snow-capped branch, its white plumage barred with fine dark markings down the wing and a long tail dropping to the lower right.
Bare branches spread behind it, dusted white, and stylised teal foliage and snowflakes fill the space between. The frame is a braided white rope of leaves with small gold clusters set at intervals around it. White, teal and gold, nothing else. The size chart gives 8 in across, aluminium, pre-drilled, weather resistant.
The teal lifts it out of the usual winter grey, so it works in a room with colour in it, above a bed or on a landing, and does not have to come down in January. Owls sit at the heart of Yule and Imbolc imagery for a lot of practitioners. An easy gift for one of them. Gold on white keeps it from reading as a Christmas piece once the tree comes down.
