A large moth is held open across the center, wings in deep teal and jade with cream edges and fine gold scrollwork traced over the upper pair. Its body is banded and ridged, the feathered antennae swept back toward a pale full moon that sits at the top of the disc with straight rays fanning out behind it.
The lower half is filled with big open flowers in burnt orange and coral, leaves in blue-green, and a few small stars scattered through the black ground. The drawing is flat and graphic, all hard outlines and blocked color in the tattoo-flash tradition, rather than shaded to look like worked metal, and the whole design is printed onto a flat aluminium disc.
