A witch stands with her back to us on a lit path, pointed hat on, her gown a sweep of dark teal and green that spreads across the bottom third of the disc. One arm is held out from her side. Autumn leaves blow across her skirt.
Ahead of her the moon is enormous and burning orange, cracked and swirling like something poured, with five bats crossing it. Two big trees arch in from the sides, canopies turning orange and gold, and the woods behind glow an odd acid green. A carved pumpkin grins from each lower corner and small lights float through the branches. All that light and depth is painted into the artwork and printed onto a flat aluminium disc.
The green and orange are strong enough to read from the sidewalk, which makes it a front-door or fence piece for October. Indoors, hang it against something plain. A safe choice for the friend who treats Samhain as the real new year.
