A grey horned owl stands square on a pale crescent, talons gripping the curve, both yellow eyes forward. Its chest is barred cream and grey and the wing feathers are drawn one by one. The sky behind is deep teal, scattered with white starbursts, and the crescent carries a line of scrollwork along its inner face.

Purple and blue cloudbanks ring the outside like piled thunderheads, with a small second crescent tucked at the bottom. All of it is printed flat onto clear glass, so the scrollwork on the moon is ink rather than carving.

The owl reads as the winter familiar: quiet, awake, watching the long night out. Hang it near the top of the tree, or leave it on a window hook all year. Glass, so keep it clear of cats and small hands. Owls read as wisdom and night watch in most traditions.
