The pentagram here is tied from bare branches, wrapped where the arms cross, and set inside a ring of the same knotted wood. A small crescent moon hangs at the very centre. Around the outside grow chalk white and dusky pink blooms, dry leaves in rust and olive, and a cluster of fat mushrooms at the lower corners, one red capped and one pale brown. Moths rest along the branches with their wings open, and the black behind is dusted with faint stars.

The colours are muted enough that a bright deck reads clearly on them, and the ring gives an obvious circle to work inside. It fits the run from Mabon through Samhain, though the woodland feel keeps it usable all year on a small altar or side table.
