A skeleton sits with both arms wrapped round a black cat, chin resting near its ear, ribs and finger bones drawn in fine ink line. The cat looks straight out with one white-ringed eye, entirely unbothered, its tail curling away to the right and a scattered pile of bones at the bottom of the frame.

The ground is aged parchment cream, foxed and stained, and a band of small worn glyphs runs around the rim with tick marks between them. The numbers one to twelve are white with a dark outline, and white hands and a red second hand cross the middle. The whole engraved look is printed flat.

Two colours only, so it hangs anywhere without fighting the room. A good gift for someone grieving a cat, or for a friend who keeps their humour dark.
