The heart is cracked down the middle.

A heart standing upright on a turned stem and a stepped round foot, built like a small trophy. Roses and long leaves lie over the front and break past the edge on both sides, and a split runs down the centre of the heart from top to bottom, modelled as a crack rather than a seam.

Three holders rise from behind the top of the heart, each a sculpted candle shape with a small cup on top, the middle one tallest. They are angled apart so three flames would sit at different heights. Matte black all over, roses included, with no gilding and no colour anywhere on it.

It suits a bedside table, a mantel or a handfasting table, and makes a fair anniversary gift for a couple whose romance runs dark. Set it on a red or black cloth with the roses turned towards the room.
