A black cat sits along a bare branch, green eyes wide open, tail hanging down in a long curve past the leaves. A white full moon fills the space behind its head, and the sky spreads out from it in rays of blue and violet with a few gold four-pointed stars. Small green leaves run along the branch on the right, the only living colour in the scene.
The border is a full circle of round cabochons in a gold bezel, and no two neighbours match: rose pink, teal, olive, cream with a swirl in it, then blue again. The stained-glass look — the leading, the depth in the stones — is printed onto the flat sheet.
