A raven perches side-on along a branch, beak long and slightly parted, head lifted. The feathers are laid in overlapping slate and black plates, heaviest across the shoulders, tapering into a long tail. Behind it the ground is mottled pale stone. Gold oak leaves and thin vines climb over the branch, up both sides, and across the corners of a dark scrolled frame. One thin bare twig crosses the lower left corner, under the branch.

Only the bird stays dark; everything else is gold or grey. The relief and the gilding are printed onto a flat panel, which is why something this ornate weighs almost nothing.

Ravens sit with the Morrigan, with Odin, and with plain autumn, so this one is easy to place: a hallway, a desk, or beside a divination shelf. It suits Samhain without being a Halloween decoration. Good for anyone who counts corvids on the way to work. The pale stone ground keeps it from disappearing against dark paint.
