A witch rides her broom straight across a huge cream crescent moon, knees bent, one boot heel showing under the hem. Her cloak is deep red and blows out behind her in a long curve, past the moon and into the black. Her dress is black with a wide gathered skirt, her hair pale gold and streaming, her hat black with gold stars scattered along the brim.
The sky is flat black dusted with gold five-pointed stars, some large, some barely dots. Around the edge runs a gold border of thin scrollwork with worn patches where the gilding has rubbed through, and the corners of the panel are darkened as though the piece has hung somewhere for decades. That whole aged-tin look is printed artwork on a new flat sheet.
Red and gold on black makes it read as winter rather than Halloween, so it can go up for Yule and stay through the dark months. Good beside a staircase or over a doorway where the tall shape has room to breathe.
