Three witches lean in over a cauldron and the fire coming out of it climbs higher than any of their shoulders. The faces are stylised and doll-like, with heavy lashes, dark red lips and long waved hair in cream blonde, auburn and ash pink. Each hat sits at its own angle: olive tan, slate blue with a band of tiny skulls, dusty pink with a jewelled cuff.
The cauldron below them is dark and ornate, standing on a scrolled base. A tangle of bare branches fills the whole top half, and vines and leaves crowd the outer border. Everything is worked in near-black except the fire, the skin and three sets of eyes, which is what makes the flame read so hot. The depth in the branches and the moulding around the pot are printed, not raised.
Hang it over an altar table or beside the stove, where a cauldron makes sense. It suits a household of three, or anyone whose Samhain decorating starts in August and never quite comes down again.
