A long-haired black cat sits dead centre on a stack of antique books, the gold tooling on their spines picked out in the same gold as its collar chain, which drops a knotwork piece, a crescent moon and a pentacle down its chest. The triple moon runs across the top, a full moon disc glows behind the cat, and six gilt-edged tarot cards fan out around it: a rayed sun with a face, a crescent moon and star, an eight-pointed star, a purple heart, a winged insect and a second black cat.

A gothic pointed arch on columns frames the scene, its band carrying fine gold marks, with chains of crescent charms and faceted purple gems hanging inside it. Two large black birds stand on gold pedestals, one each side. Eight-pointed stars are scattered through the upper corners. Along the bottom sit dark purple roses and leaves, purple crystal points, dripping purple candles and a crystal ball on a footed gold stand. The ground stays deep violet to black, so the gold work carries across a room.
