Snake

🐍 A snake sheds the whole of itself and carries on, which is why nearly every tradition that has them attached the serpent to rebirth rather than to menace. Snake designs run here across necklaces, tapestries, rings, witch hats, sweatshirts and altar cloths.

Medusa carries a good share of it — sleeping-faced with rearing serpents on aluminium wall signs, and paired with gothic snake tapestries where the older reading as guardian rather than monster comes through. Elsewhere serpents coil with skulls, triple moons, pentacles and moon phase arcs.

The apparel side takes the serpent somewhere different again, wrapped around a zodiac wheel on sweatshirts and coiled across witch hat brims where it circles the head. Hecate's pieces are where the association runs deepest: the serpent, the key and the torch belong to the same goddess, and several designs carry all three together.
