The round ones do something no other piece of decor does: laid down, a pentacle rug gives you a marked circle without chalk, salt or anything to clean up afterwards, and it rolls away when the room goes back to being a living room. That matters in a shared house or a rented flat where a permanent circle is not an option.

Rectangles do the ordinary job instead, anchoring a bed or a seating area where a circle would be beside the point. Designs run to triple moons and moon phase arcs, pentagrams built from branches, mystical cats, and darker compositions pairing black cats with owls and skulls.
