Two cat faces fill the entire dial, cropped so close that you get fur, eyes and one nose and nothing else. The black cat holds the left and lower half with a green-gold eye; the white cat curves in from the right with a pale blue one, and the line where they meet takes the shape of a yin-yang. The photography is sharp enough to count whiskers.

The hour marks are gold Roman-style numerals set around the rim, and several on the left side are printed in mirror image rather than the right way round. Slim gold hands and a red second hand turn from the centre, over a flat printed panel.
