The first full moon of the year was named for the wolves heard howling in deep winter.
In folk calendars the Wolf Moon marks the cold heart of January. The wolf stands for loyalty to the pack, instinct and the wild self, and in Norse and Celtic stories it walks beside the gods. A wolf before the moon is the wild self keeping watch through the dark.
For wolf lovers, Pagans and night walkers. Wear this gothic dress to a January full moon rite, a Yule gathering or a winter forest walk.
