Here the knot is drawn as open scrollwork rather than solid loops. Four long pointed petals reach out from the centre, with curling tendrils filling the space between them, and a round faceted black stone is set flat at the crossing point where the petals meet. The pattern does not stop at the face: smaller versions of the same four-point knot continue along both sides of the band, so the design runs the whole way around the finger.

The scrolled outline makes it look older than the cut-out knot rings, closer to something dug out of a jewellery box than something new. Worn on the index or middle finger it takes up real width.
