A witch sits on the ground in a wide-brimmed hat, skirts pooled around her, holding up a slim wand topped with a ball while steam lifts off the cauldron at her knee. Three fat toadstools grow at the left edge and one more by her hem. Behind her the forest recedes into green mist and bare trunks, and the ground beneath her is thick with worked grass and moss. Every element sits in the same weathered bronze-grey, printed so the figure and her woods look poured from one piece of dull metal.
The rough grass, the pitted metal edge and the steam off the pot are all part of the print, laid on a smooth flat face. Pre-drilled holes take a nail, and the panel weighs very little.
Quiet enough for a bedroom or a hallway, dark enough for a Samhain shelf. Hang it where a lamp can rake across the surface. Well suited to a solitary practitioner, or to anyone whose altar really lives out in the woods.
