A woman lounges against two wooden barrels, one leg crossed over the other, holding a glass of red wine up in her left hand. She wears a broad honey-brown hat, a marigold bodice with a laced front and brown corset belt, deep blue trousers, a violet drape and pointed orange boots. Her dark hair falls in long curls over one shoulder and her eyes are closed. Grape vines frame the whole circle in green and gold leaves and curling tendrils, with a bunch of purple grapes at the top and a green apple by her hand.
The vine leaves that appear to lift off the barrels are printed shadow, level with the rest of the panel. Pre-drilled holes take a hook, and the finish will not fade over a sunny kitchen window.
Autumnal without a drop of black or orange, which makes it a Mabon piece rather than a Halloween one. Good in a kitchen, a dining room, or above a wine rack. A fitting gift for someone who marks the second harvest properly.
