A black cat looks straight out of the panel and fills most of it. His eyes are the brightest thing here, pale green and wide with narrow slit pupils. The fur is painted in warm black with brown lifting through it, and the whiskers catch a little light. A small gold crescent moon sits just above his right ear, close enough to look balanced there.
The background is dark and dusted with tiny stars. Bronze scrollwork curls in from every corner, studded with small round bosses, and a ring pull hangs at the bottom edge like a drawer handle. The whole thing has the look of an old cabinet door, aged and slightly tarnished. That metalwork, the studs and the ring are printed artwork rather than fittings you can take hold of.
Small enough for a bedroom, a hallway or the wall beside a litter tray nobody wants to look at. An easy gift for a black cat owner, and one that keeps working past Halloween because nothing on it says October.
Material: aluminium sign, fade-resistant for indoor or covered outdoor use
Sizes: 20x30cm and 30x45cm
Care: wipe clean with a dry cloth
Note: the aged metalwork and studs are printed onto a flat panel
The Black Cat leads the design as an archetype of mystery, independence and familiar lore. Other gothic or seasonal details build atmosphere around that central character.
