Two faces share the circle and both are in profile, turned toward each other. On the left a crescent moon carries a woman's face in chalk white, the surface drawn with fine cracks like old plaster, clouds banked below her chin and a small gold crown at her brow. On the right the sun answers with long ropes of yellow hair that curl out to the rim and turn red at the edges.

Between them the ground goes deep blue and violet, sown with small stars. Two gold star medallions and a pale crescent sit along the bottom, and a burning orange orb tucks in near her hair. The metal and stone effects are painted into the artwork rather than moulded.
