A gold sun sits left of center, its face a smooth yellow dome ringed by long wavy rays. A silver crescent curves around it from the right, scrolled at the tip and strewn with gold and blue five-pointed stars. The ground behind both is deep teal, graded like poured enamel.
The border is bronze scrollwork with acanthus curls, and round jewels are set into it at intervals: amethyst purple, citrine yellow, amber, sapphire blue. Everything is printed to look like cast metal and set stone, from the shadows under the rays to the bevel on the crescent and the claw settings around each jewel. The panel underneath is flat aluminium, light enough for a single hook.
A solstice altar is the obvious spot, but it also hangs well over a desk or in a stairwell where the blue picks up daylight. Give it to someone who marks both Litha and Yule, or who simply likes celestial decor gilded rather than minimal.
