A large crescent curves across the upper half in polished copper, and along its inner edge sits a profile: closed eye, straight nose, lips slightly parted, framed by scrolled filigree that runs on down the horn of the moon. The plate behind is deep navy, textured like beaten metal, with craters and faint sea shapes worked into it.

Five-pointed copper stars sit around the moon at several sizes, along with three or four smaller crescents, each catching light on one side. An oval of copper beading rings the scene and heavy scroll corners fill out the four corners of the panel. It is printed onto a flat sheet, so the shine and the raised beading live in the artwork.
