A black dragon takes the centre, head lifted, wings spread wide and tail looping back through the bottom of the quilt. Every scale and wing bone is traced in silver scrollwork, and blue gemstones are set along the joints, at the throat and at the wing tips.

Behind it a pale teal moon rises, low and full, with the same silverwork spilling across the sky like frost. Violet and green flowers grow up from the lower edge, one lotus open at the corner. The pillowcases carry a single standing dragon against the same moon.
