A woman's face fills the open part of a heavy silver crescent, tipped slightly back, eyes gold and half lidded. Her skin is painted in bands of color, hot red across the brow and cheek, cool blue down the far side, with fine ornamental scrollwork traced over it and a teal drop set on the forehead.
Blue hair curls away in thick spirals, and red flowers with green centers grow out of it along the right edge. The crescent itself is worked like antique silver: flat leaf rosettes set at intervals, each with a green cabochon at the middle, and curled volutes filling the rest. Behind her head a fan of pale gold rays opens out. The metal, the stones and the paintwork are all printed onto one flat panel.
The color makes it a focal piece, so give it a bare wall, above an altar, over a dresser or in a corner with a warm lamp. It has no seasonal tie. Fitting for someone who works with lunar cycles, or who simply wants a moon that looks back.
