A raven grips a carved pumpkin with both feet, wings folded, head turned to show one orange eye and a heavy grey beak. Every feather is drawn as a separate outlined shape, so the bird reads like a woodcut rather than a painting.

The pumpkin is bright orange with deep ribbing and a wide triangular grin cut into it. Behind them a grey full moon fills most of the circle, cratered and mottled, and the rest of the ground stays flat black with small bats and hairline branches at the edges. Three colours, nothing else. Nothing here is textured or built up: the ridges in the pumpkin and the shine on the beak are drawn, and the surface stays smooth.

This is a porch piece. It still reads from the street after dark, which most detailed signs do not. Put it on the door, over a bale of straw, or on the garage wall beside the pumpkins. Good for anyone who does the whole yard for Halloween and needs one more thing.
