A large moth is spread flat and symmetrical across the middle, wings patterned in rust red, orange and black. Four eyespots sit across them, each filled with a swirl of blue and violet and ringed in gold. The body is banded, tipped with a small gold crest.
A bright textured moon hangs directly above it and a smaller one off to the right, both over a dark blue sky, black pines and a low mountain line. Poppies in red and orange crowd the whole lower half, seed heads and curled stems reaching up either side. It is printed edge to edge with no raised areas. The wings are mirrored line for line, so any small tilt on the hook shows up immediately; hang this one with a level.
It works over a bed, at the top of the stairs, or anywhere the reds can sit against something plain. There is nothing seasonal in it, so it stays up all year without looking out of step. Good for a gardener with a taste for the dark.
