A tarantula covers the full width of the quilt, legs running off both edges, drawn glossy black with fine hairs along every joint. Where the abdomen should be there is a window onto deep space instead: purple and blue cloud, pink light, four-pointed stars.

The web behind it is drawn in white line over grey and violet, with beads of dew hanging off the strands, each one another small galaxy. Grey roses open at the corners, and a second smaller spider waits high on the web near the pillows, which carry the same galaxy-bodied design.
