Two faces almost touch. The sun turns three-quarters toward you, eyes shut, a mane of gold ribbons flaring around a pale stone face. The moon leans in from the right, her cheek and chin held inside the curve of the crescent, hair falling in long cream waves that catch a thinner, cooler gold.

Everything else is bone and cream. The surface is worked to look like old plaster, with hairline cracks running across the sun's cheek, a faint botanical etching pressed into the crescent, and edges left chipped.
