Her face where the head should be.
A moth with a woman looking out of it. The wings open wide and low, crescent marks along the upper edges, the lower halves broken into feathered scales. Where the moth's head belongs there is a calm human face instead, eyes closed, hair falling into the wing on either side.
Above the face sits a ribbed, segmented thorax with two antennae and a pair of small leaves rising off it. Below, the abdomen tapers away into a long tail of scrollwork and ivy, so the whole silhouette comes to a point. Matte black throughout, cut to its own outline with no frame or backing board.
Hang it over an altar, a plant shelf or a reading chair. It belongs with the Mabon and Samhain half of the year, and makes a good gift for someone who keeps moths, bones and pressed specimens under glass.
