This is the same subject handled the opposite way. A raven stands on a weathered stump, painted close to photographic — every feather separate, one pale eye catching the light. To the left a wooden grave cross tilts, with a second, smaller crow perched on its arm. Bare branches reach in from the top of the circle.
The background is fog: pine shapes first, then the outline of a cathedral spire barely showing through. Everything sits in grey, bone and old brown, with no bright color anywhere on the disc. It is closer to a photograph on metal than to a decorative plaque. There is no gold, no glow and no flourish anywhere in the frame.
