A woman's face turns in profile on the left, skin pale silver, eyes closed, dark lashes lowered. A single tear runs down her cheek. A delicate gold headpiece with a small clear stone sits at her hairline, and her hair falls in heavy grey-silver waves across the right of the disc.
The left half is a black starfield with a silver crescent and clusters of gold six-pointed stars. Curving around the right runs a broad grey band of gold scrollwork, and set into it are three round moons in warm gold and orange, each one cratered and ringed with beading. A fourth small moon sits at the bottom. Two small holes are punched through the rim for hanging.
Grief and the moon go together in a lot of practice, and this one carries that without being grim. Suits an altar wall, a bedside or a memorial shelf, and works as a gift for someone marking a dark moon or a hard year. The finish is cool silver throughout except for those warm gold moons.
