Two ravens perch on thin crossed branches turned toward one another, beaks almost meeting. Both are drawn in deep blue-black with red glints along the wing edges and small red eyes, feathers laid out in neat overlapping rows. Between and below them stand two dripping candles, each with a tall lit flame and long runs of wax down the sides.

Behind the pair a golden moon rises with bats crossing it, and the rest of the ground is a cold blue woodland of bare trunks. Green leaves and dark red apples hang in from the top and bottom corners. Everything, from the wax runs to the feather edges, is printed onto a flat disc rather than moulded, so the panel is smooth and light on a hook.
