The eclipse swallows the sun for a moment, and in the old tales that is when the night creatures take wing.
Bats belong to the hour between dusk and dark, long read as guides through change and rebirth. Fire stands for transformation and the burning away of the old, and the eclipse marks a threshold where light and shadow meet.
For the goth who loves the dramatic side of the craft, worn at Halloween, Beltane fire nights or an eclipse watch as a gothic dress that looks like embers.
