A white owl sits square in the middle of the disc, blue eyes forward, a small gold crest between them. Its breast is drawn in overlapping scallops and its wings in long leaf-shaped panels. It grips a silver branch that winds across the lower half, and pale silver leaves fan out to either side against deep blue night. Round blue jewels sit between the leaves, and a silver band runs the whole way around the rim.
The look is stained glass - dark outlines, panel shapes, jewel points - printed onto flat aluminium. There is no glass, no lead, and no raised bezel behind any of those blue stones.
Best where light reaches it: a hall shelf, an entry wall, above a desk. The owl reads as watcher and messenger in a good many traditions, which makes it an easy gift for a student or a night worker. The 12×12 holds a wall alone; the 8x8 suits a stacked shelf.
