Moon phases run edge to edge.

The full cycle arcs across the top of the disc, waxing up the left and waning down the right with the full moon at the crown. Beneath it sits a barred owl in cream and grey, amber eyes fixed forward, a gold pentacle resting on its chest and a small crescent tucked above its head.

Behind the bird there is a black pine wood and a cabin with lit windows. The ledge below is crowded: a cauldron trailing green steam, a skull at the left, candles in green, red and cream, coloured bottles, dried slices and icicles hanging off the wood. Holly and berries run the border inside a gold rim.

Owls belong to the watchful end of the tradition, which makes this a fitting marker for the longest night. Hang it low enough to be read close up, since the phases are small. It also works as a coven swap piece for whoever tracks every moon.
