A black cat sits in profile on a stone ledge, chin lifted, one green eye visible, tail curling down and around in a long spiral. Out of its shoulders come a pair of feathered wings, deep teal at the tips, shading through emerald to crimson at the shoulder, with a gold band across the base.
Behind it the ground is all gold: dense scrollwork, spirals and curls glowing warm, a lighter arch of light directly behind the cat, darker teal knotwork filling the corners. Bright green ivy climbs in from every side, leaves overlapping the outer rim so the border and the picture run into each other. Layered shadows and gold highlights create the carved-panel effect, but the surface is a flat printed disc.
The gold and green want a dark or neutral wall, over a desk, in a reading nook or at the top of the stairs. Nothing here is tied to a season, so it stays up all year. Good for anyone who thinks of their cat as a familiar with a high opinion of itself.
