A gold crescent carries a calm face in profile, eyes half closed, its inner edge patterned with scrolls and beads. A black cat sits in the curve of it, tail wrapped forward, one amber eye turned toward you.
Gold stars in three sizes fill the dark grey ground around them, some flat, some rounded like beads. A wide border of gold scrollwork and more stars finishes the disc. Everything is drawn with the deep shadows and hard highlights of cast metal, but the panel is flat printed aluminium and weighs almost nothing in the hand. Only three colours are at work here, gold, charcoal grey and the black of the cat, which keeps a busy border from looking cluttered.
The gold on grey suits a plain hallway, or a bathroom wall where a bit of shine helps. Nothing about it says Halloween, so it stays up all year and pairs neatly with brass fittings. A good first witchy piece for someone who likes the moon more than the ritual.
